Street Performers 

The streets of Asheville are alive with the sound of music. Cellos and guitars could be found on almost every corner of the city. I found street performer David Giles outside of the Grove Arcade, a landmark in Asheville, and I asked him for some advice for an aspiring street performer.

He told me to “go jam”. And jam I did.

Giles also said that in order to be a street performer you should put “something that people can put money in and then see what happens”.

I may not have made any money from my street performance, but I did get some applause.

I decided to take my new skills to the sidewalks of Elon with my friend Molly, and it looks like we have a lot of work to do.

Street performing…it’s not as easy as it looks.
