Carly Fiorina greets supporters at event honoring new legislative year
Former Hewlett-Packard CEO and Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina stopped by the Iowa State Historical Building in Des Moines to attend a welcome back reception for the Iowa State legislature.
While Fiorina did not give a speech at the event, she did pose for pictures with supporters while encouraging them to take part in the Caucus on February 1st.
Elon Local News was able to speak with Fiorina at the event about her plans for student debt.
“Well the first thing I’m going to do is get the government out of the student loans business,” Fiorina said.
She claimed that the federal government took over the student loan business following the passing of the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare. She said students are contributing more to loan payments than the federal government.
“In other words, the government is making money off you,” Fiorina concluded, “That doesn’t strike me as right”.
She said that the government needs to be taken out of the student loan business.
The 86th Iowa General Assembly began its legislative year yesterday.
As for Fiorina, she will be traveling to South Carolina, New Hampshire, and Nevada in the coming days. She will return to the Hawkeye State next Monday.
Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance.
I must say that you’ve done a great job with this. Additionally, the blog loads super fast
for me on Chrome. Outstanding Blog!
