Dr. Danieley celebrates 92nd birthday with Elon community
James Earl Danieley celebrated his 92nd birthday Sunday early with members of the Elon community at the Elon Community Church.
He officially turns 92 on Thursday.
Church members, university staff, and students gathered in the Community Life Center to wish him a happy birthday.
While Danieley retired from teaching after last academic year, he remains an active member of the Elon community. He attended spring convocation in March and the 125th anniversary celebration for the Elon Community Church.
At the celebration, the Women’s Fellowship presented Danieley with a honors certificate to recognize the work he has done for the church, including writing the church constitution, which he wrote on a typewriter in the backseat of a car.
