Board of Aldermen panel narrows applicant pool for fire chief

The Town of Elon is looking to hire a new fire chief by the end of the week.

Last night, March 2, the Board of Aldermen met at Elon Town Hall to explain the process of hiring the new chief. Former fire chief, Eddie King, retired on Sept. 30, 2014.

The Board compiled a local job ad on the Board of Aldermen website, as well as other social media.

A panel composed of six members narrowed  the process from 46 applicants and now have narrowed down to its final selection.

The six panel members include: Assistant Vice President for Facilities Management and Director of Physical Plant, Robert Buchholz; Volunteer Deputy Chief, Kevin Deangelo; Town of Elon Manager, Richard White; Town of Elon Finance Officer Misty Hagood; City of Greensboro Fire Chief, Greg Grayson; and CEO of Twin Lakes Retirement Community, Pam Fox.
