Server Problems Continue for Elon Residence Life

In an email sent to rising sophomores planning to live on-campus next fall, Residence Life at Elon say they are experiencing “Widespread problems with the servers for the housing selection system.”

Residence Life says to solve the issue “fairly and equitably for all students,” the housing selection process from this evening will be deleted, and the scheduled signups for Thursday, March 10 are also cancelled.

Elon Residence Life experienced a similar problem with the sign-up process for juniors and seniors selecting their on-campus housing on February 23.

They say at that time, Elon Information Technology and Residence Life worked with the vendor to make revisions to the selection process, by assigning every student a unique housing selection time. According to Residence life, those changes, “enabled the system to perform without incident for the remainder of the junior/senior housing selection process.”

As Residence Life wrote in a similar email to rising juniors and seniors, they told rising sophomores, “We are working with the vendor to reschedule the housing selection process to resume at a future date, once we are fully confident that the vendor’s servers and system are operating properly.”

Questions about housing selection can be directed to the Office of Residence Life at 336-278-7300 or [email protected].
